Danny Werner
Danny Werner started playing the drums when he was two years old and has been playing ever since. Drummers like Dave Grohl (Nirvana) and Matt Cameron (Soundgarden/Pearl Jam) were some of his childhood favorites and continue to infuence his drumming today. Danny comes from a family of musicians and teachers. He currently plays in the Seattle-based indie rock band Memory Boys. Danny has played on three studio albums and perfumed on multiple West Coast tours with Memory Boys. He is a dedicated guitarist and singer/songwriter.
Danny’s teaching philosophy is that playing the drums is one of the most rewarding way a person can spend their time. Drumming releases endorphins, relieving stress and is perfect for focus and developing hand-eye coordination and motor skills. Drumming teaches you to use all of your limbs independently, and requires you to use both sides of your brain simultaneously. Drumming teaches patience, confidence, self-expression and above all the ability to play music with others – which is a very special feeling - unlike anything else.
Danny welcomes students of all ages. Danny moved to West Seattle from Whidbey Island and is excited to be teaching drumming at WSPA!
